The Volta Quarter got its name from the Volta factory, which was established in 1899. The factory borrowed its name from the forefather of electronics, Alessandro Volta, whose name was also given to the unit of electric potential, the volt.
The buildings originating from different time periods will be reconstructed into residential buildings, others will be replaced by new apartment buildings. In addition, new restaurants, cafes and real small shops are appearing in the neighbourhood. The entire quarter is being rebuilt to fit the people of the 21st century.
The future quarter will be architecturally unique, have landscaping and spacious planning. A kindergarten and sports field are also not forgotten, not to mention plenty of space for parking.
